Lipo batteries sound nice, but I think I'd like to stick with something more idiot proof, maybe the A123 battery system. Is this system really substantially better than 14 NiMH batteries, or is it too early to tell?

I'm still looking through all the motor threads on this forum, but it's really hard to get my head around all the choices. Seems like the 7XL, 8XL, 9XL, are very popular, but how do you choose which one? Is that determined by the batteries you're running?
