Doh! That makes sense. I sometimes forget these are three phase. :)
So, following that logic; if a typical two pole motor has say 7 turns, does that mean a four pole 7 turn motor has both sets of 3 poles energized at once? This would in effect put each 7 turn pole in parallel with each other, correct? Which would pull as much current as a 3.5T motor, right?
I'm just trying to figure out what makes driving a motor with more than two poles so difficult...
