The nice thing about running the huge lipo packs is IMO you don't even need the greatest cells. We are talking only like 2c average... or less. Of course the amp surges are still very high.... +100A but the big packs (8000mah+) can handle it.
So you can go with budget lipos, which are now like 8C. I have some old 4000mah cells I got from truerc a couple years ago almost, that are only about a true 4-5C cell. They crap out any higher than that. And they seem to run great in my emaxx and 1/8 buggy. I will say I have limited use with them, and haven't pushed these cells in runtime... more just in testing, speed runs etc. Oh, and I run them in 2p and 3p packs... that's what allows them to do ok.
Point is, I think we can run the budget cells... don't have to shell out the big bucks for the latest 15/20c + stuff.
Some of these are cheaper per mah than brand name nickel cells.
