I have successfully used the RRP (Robinson Racing Products) dual slipper clutch on my modified e-maxx. Not with brushless yet but with 6 & 7 cell packs and 21T 550 motors. NO problems even with heavy loads (towing my 3-year old @ 40lbs in a red wagon!

I can possibly get a strobe sprong from a friend but I've heard this isnt nearly as bulletproof as it's desirability would suggest. I'm also considering a UE 4-shoe clutch instead... Can I use this in an e-maxx with an FLM chassis?

It's designed for a nitro motor so I woud say NO.
Any suggestions here at all as to what else I should consider getting for my transmission would be greatly appreciated. All you really need a a fresh set of good bearings (BOCA or AVID Racing) and the UE idlers. The rest is plenty tough. I'm using the FLM centre drive shaft (EXT) currently with FLM bulks / Lightning diffs / MIP Cvds (may get UE to deal with an issue I'm having). What front driveshaft should I get? Get the UE for the standard e-maxx. Titanium is preferred. If you need the dimension I'll measure mine, but it's the standard e-maxx size. I will be using mid-range brushless with LiPo.

If after you've tackled the above you'd like to tell me everything I need as far as steering knuckles/toe links/pillowballs/spacers/etc I'd appreciate it. I recommend the UE suspension. The EXT or Racer-X because they eliminate bump steer and have vastly improved geometry. But if you already have the flextek use the UE or hardcore racing knuckles. I like the UE steel pivot balls for strength, the Traxxas hardcoat/teflon aluminum pivot balls for ultimate light weight & smoothness, and the UE Ti for a little of both. I'm using flextek arms and 40-series aluminum wheels and (probably) mulchers ...again I'm not sure what else I might need here.

I'm just getting into this part of the hobby and am not especially mechanical - so please assume I have no idea what I'm doing because that's pretty much the case. I may be omitting what you see as a very basic inclusion - please let me know. I'd hate to put 2 grand into a truck only to find out that a 15 dollar modification that everyone does on their 300 dollar trucks would greatly increase some element of the truck.

Thanks all, I really appreciate the knowledge, I will probably take about 9,000 pictures when I'm done and will be happy to post them all *grin*

Hope this helps.
