The single speed conversion makes the stock output gear last longer, because the stock 2 speed has got some play to make the shifting go easy. The entire drivetrain gets weaker because of it.
with the singlespeed conversion you remove the slop from the transmission.
and with the steel idler that Mike has you are able to make a very tough transmission.
If you want your transmission to last;
the top inputshaft (the one that holds the 2 gears) needs some modification as well. The gear is connected with the shaft thru a pin. this pin is known to fail. You need to replace that hollow pin with a solid one. (i used a hardened nail)
About the slipper;
the rrp slipper can hold the ofna 51t spur, you only need to tweak the spur a little.
