I've always wondered about that. The Doppler effect is simply a shift in the frequency when the signal hits a moving object. IIRC, if moving away from you, it's shifted to a lower frequency; if moving towards you, it's shifted to a higher freq. Why can't the gun be smart enough to see how it's shifting and automatically compensate for either direction??
