I guess the only way to really know is to try it. If I can make it work for a few months unill the Monster Maxx comes out. Then I guess I could move the MM to the rustler and upgrade the buggy to a MMM.
Sounds like I just talked myself into it. Hope I don't fry it in 1 run.:002:
I don't think there will really be a serious long-term effect. Maybe if you are lokoing to runthe esc for 10 years, but if its setup properly, I think it would eb very usable for quite a while (ie it won't blow up after 5 runs.)

Nothing is certain, but I was using 15 cells for quite a while before I got the lipos and suffered no damage. Shaun at CC seemed to say 5S would be OK, but the rel concern would be thermal issues rather than raw voltage. Even 14 cell packs charge to ~21V off the charger (~1.45V/cell), but obviously quickly drops.

At the very worst, it should get you thru the cold months until the MMMax comes out, and even if you do kill it is only $50 to repair no ?'s asked. I would think it would have a very good resale value on ebay as well.. so why not?

Edit: lots of typos...oh well
