A steel input gear with the steel idlers is not necessarily a problem.
I'll be offering (I think in conjunction w/RC-M) new input shafts an slipper kits. To contend with the steel on steel contact I have DFL coated input gears and can also coat steel idlers (UE or RC-M). Any lube can be used but I've engineered a proprietary lube w/assistance from two major HP oil manufacturers. It rated beyond EP and has an extremely high "Cling" factor to prevent being thrown off at high rpm (typical on brushless apps).
