I would think it would be easier just to finagle a real servo in there (maybe a micro??). It looks like the white and black single wires are the motor wires and the three red/black/white wires are the potentiometer feedback wires. Normally, the feeback circuit is included in the servo so you never see them. Basically what you have there is the mechanical parts of the servo seperate from the electronics (controller and feeback), which are on the main board along with the main motor controller.
