I don't think it's a solder problem...what wattage is the iron?

For solderring connectors and stuff it's best to have a 40W+ iron, an 18W PCB iron will just heat everything up rather than letting the solder flow.

Everything needs to be properly hot for the solder to stick.

Is everything clean? (Tips, surfaces etc...)
