Here ya go. A beautiful day outside, so it's a great time to give the Hyper a good run. Here's the specs:
  • Hyper 7 RTR
  • Feigao 10L BL motor
  • Mamba Max ESC
  • 12 cells GP3300
  • BEC disabled and RX pack used
  • 11/46 gearing
  • Road Rage tires
My gearing calc predicted 32 mph, and I hit 29, so that's a success for me. Outside temp was 55, and highest temps seen were 105 on the ESC and a bit over 100 on the motor. I've got a 13T pinion in the mail, and I may be able to go up to 15T, depending on the temps I see. Braking was great, accleration was great, heck of a lot of fun to drive...but I really need to get that big servo I got in there. The one I've got doesn't have enough muscle to turn the tires. Running in the grass is like running on concrete. Lots of control, and with the 12 cell in there and panther tires, it looks like a lawnmower from all the grass flying up.

So, next steps are:
  • Test with 13T pinion
  • Properly mount up the heatsink (remove sticker on the can and use heat transfer compound)
  • Get the Tony's screws I ordered in there
  • Get UBEC in there so I can ditch the RX pack
  • Get a 4S 4000mAh LiPo
  • Find a way to mount batteries with something other than duct tape :005:
I'm hoping for 35 - 38 mph or so after all this. 40 mph is my target, but I think I need 5S to do that. There's also the possibility that with the 15T pinion and 4S 40 mph might be in reach without overheating. We'll see how it goes from here! On to the vid!
