Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments. Just came back from the test run. Ambient temperature is around 30 deg C

I have gathered some data:

1) Ambient temperature = approximately 30 Deg C
2) Max. Amp. = 89.7A
3) Max temp. on the esc = 48 Deg C
4) Motor temp. = approx 61 Deg C
5) Battery temp. = 45 Deg C
6) Battery usage b4 LVC kicked in = 2600mah
7) Run time (running, not idling over on it's lid) = approx 13 minutes

Configuration :

1) 8XL
2) 13/46 gearing
3) 5S 3200mah Kokam cells
4) BK 12020 esc
5) sacker pro buggy

Problems encountered :

1) Loose mesh after about 10minutes into the 26 minute session. Retightened & continued
2) Puffed 3S pack eventhough LVC was used. Maybe overdischarged (20C raing is only 64A but saw 89A !):036:

Conclusion :

I think this is a good test finally laying to rest on the problems encountered by my BL system in this warm & humid place. I need to get better battery but that would in turn increase the weight of the buggy. :027:

Question for the expert :

When fully loaded, the buggy is close to 4.1kg while its nitro equivalent is only 3.7kg. I am having problem with the handling of the buggy at the moment. It would bottom out eventhough I am already on heavier springs. Do I need to change the viscocity of the shock oil to something heavier compared to the nitro buggy. The nitro buggy is using 30wt oil. Can I use 45wt. oil in the e-buggy to eliminate the bottoming out problem ?

Regards,
Joe Ling

PS : the eagletree data recorder was connected to the 2S side only. Not sure why it showed a max of 12.5V for the battery pack though but not shown anywhere in the graph
