Well, either of the motors you mentioned will work fine. The "best" will depend on the cell count. A 1/10 buggy is pretty easy to make fast (another member has been over 60mph in a traxxas bandit buggy using 7 or 8 cells). The 7018 warrior would need a re eiver pack if you use less than 8 cells, so the MGM is usually the choice for the smaller vehicles.
The Novak system isn't bad at all, and on 7 cells in a small buggy would keep up with the nitros pretty well. The new ones are also compatible with brushed motors and they are releasing a couple newer, faster systems as well, so I wouldn't write the Novak off completely. The Novak is the cheapest system out there and would work quite well in the small 1/10 buggy. Of course, the MGM/Lehner combo could outperform the Novak, but if you want to balance price and performance, the Novak should still be a consideration.
