one thing that help me, I also had to set the throttle to reverse but I noticed I had to put the red jumper back on, plug in the battery, and test. each time it failed, (I tried a few different things) and start over.

Also, maybe remove the BEC from the install, again, I found that I had to put the red jumper back on, with the battery on, before doing the next test.

It seems that when it fails, if you don't reset it by putting the red jumper on you get stuck in a failed state.
