Non-novak systems are not really complicated, and will give you much better performance for the $. The only real difference with a Non-novak is that you need either a Rx pack or external BEC as running the ones built in are meant for lower voltages. You can use the empty motor space to mount such a thing there.
The add. upside is you have a huge range of options in motor choice, however a Mamba Max ran on 14 cells or 4S with a feigao 7XL or 8Xl is a hard combo to beat, and will destroy a novak system in performance.
i would also take the opportunity to also upgrade to a Strobe slipper (you'll kill the stocker) with a much tougher Mod1 pitch spur. Mike has mod1 5mm pinions as well.
