the plan was, indeed, to use a long rod. I've got this 3mm titanium rod i can use as a turnbuckle. only need to make some thread on it, and it's good to go.
Just finished hooking up the batterieholders, still having doubts on how to mount the motor. (using a stock e-maxx transmission) My initial idea was to make a motorplate that enables the motor to sit on the opposite direction of the transmission. kind of like the original gmaxx mount, only fixed to the gearbox. (this way i could mount the motor lower) It would use spacers to mount the motor onto another plate.
Good thing is i've got some driveshafts wandering around that are a perfect drop in for front and rear.. So basically, this project comes together pretty easy!
