Puff of smoke ! - Need Brushless - 02.19.2005, 03:51 PM

Was going to hold off on getting a brushless as I just finished building my g-maxx. However, finally got finished putting it together and took it out for a spin. About 5 minutes into the run...POOF.... big puff of smoke. Looks like i fried one of the stock motors.

So my question is I'm thinking about getting Plettenberg BigMAXXimum brushless motor with a Schulze 18.97KWH controller. However, it there anything better on the market?

Titans go on ebay for next to nothing. I saw a NIB titan go for 5 bucks.

The schulze 18.97 KWF (you said kwh, but i think you meant kwf) has been cancelled. They now have the schulze 18.97 KW. It works just as well, if not better.

I think that the schulze controllers can handle the plettys, but i don't think the 9918 could. I bet the 18120 could handle the pletty, but someone please correct me.

The "new" 18.97 is the same controller, I believe. They just dropped a letter in the name. I haven't personally tried the Pletts with BK controllers, but when I do, I will let you know how they work.

The F stands for FAI. Just an airplane mode, pretty pointless in a car, thats why they cancelled it.
