Which truggy? - 10.27.2008, 08:02 PM

I'm seriously thinking about selling off a good bit of my RC equipment and buying another truggy. I'm thinking about an 8ight-T as I can pick one up for right around $400 shipped right now. Whatever I buy would be used for pretty much bashing only. Any suggestions would be appreciated. FWIW, I already have a Jammin X1-CRT.

Not sure if Losi has a new truggy in the works since they just bought out a new buggy. If I was getting a truggy it would either be the 8IGHT-T or Kyosho. $400 shipped is pretty good price

Airtronics MX3 2.4Ghz
TP 5S 5000mah

For bashing I'd go with a hyper ST or a muggy, maybe. I'm thinking of selling my hyper ST as a roller, LMK if interested. . BTW: It's set up for saddle packs but can be switched back without modification and little effort.

I have not gotten a chance to get any thorough testing done with my 8ight-T because its ESC was sent in to CC, however, if it is as tough as the 8ight buggy. You really can't go wrong. I think the 8ight is one of the toughest rc's I have ever owned. Crash after crash, it just keeps coming back asking for more. And especially since you will be bashing with it, I think it will fit your needs perfectly.

I have a hyper st for sale as well. 2 bodies, one rtr and a clear pro. A few spares, shocks etc. I have had a few truggies so far, and this is my favorite so far. I would keep it, but I have too many...

My two cents - 10.28.2008, 01:47 AM

How about the XT8
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13984

I beat the fricken beans out of mine and holds up pretty good.. A new one is a lot so no there, but a used one from Ebay or elsewhere for $350.00 add on some 808 shocks for around $100.00 and you've got one BAD ass Truggy..

Just a thought..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

love the Kyosho st-rr. and before people say they are pricey and parts are not easy to find..... for one you get what you pay for and you have to break a part to buy one. Besides Amain carries everything for them. Handle like a dream and tough as nails. But i hear the Hyper ST pro Kit is very good as well and i will be picking up one of those to compare to the kyosho.(just dont know when yet, funds are low)

i have a new (well, mostly put together - but never finished) xray XT8 i'm selling. i'm sure you saw it, though. just thought i'd throw it out there. it's a bit more than your 8ight-t, though...but your current truggy could be the basher and this could be your racer...?

i have the rcm motor mount and hitec 5955tg for it, too.

Xray XT8 (Neu powered) MMM on 5s
MD 500 scale heli - castle HV-45 on 3s
Eflite Blade 400 heli on 3s
