What to do w/ my 3.3 E-Revo?....Slayer conversion? - 11.18.2008, 12:26 PM

I was thinking of selling my old 3.3 E-revo (nitro conversion) as its got shelved between my truggy and Savage XL and crt.5, but then I got looking at the CORR trucks and the slayers running around, and they do look cool and something different to do. So maybe its worth reviving the Revo as a Slayer?

It looks like the Slayer uses a 2.5r Revo chassis (which I have a spare laying about,) OTOH the new SC8 is actually ~1" longer wheelbase than the 3.3. Has anyone done a 3.3 Slayer then? Seems like the wheelbase would be well worth it. The only hangup maybe the SC8 body may be a bit too long, but I suppose it could get trimmed up ok to fit. Thoughts?

So I would just need new wheels and arms as well as nerf bars. All pretty cheap, and prolly worth going to RPM off the bat anyway. Lastly, I'd have to ditch the Ti turnbuckles, and get new ones. I could just cut down red Revo rods to the right length. Strong rods, and I have a fullset anyway.

Lastly, I have a tranny w/ the rear brake and CD, any luck on the 500K fluid unloading less on the Slayer type tires over the big MT wheels? If I do it, I would go with a smaller 60mm Medusa. Don't need as much TQ, and may help unloading as well. I would just get 1/8 buggy tires upfront as well.
