Talking CRT.5 Motor Mount Test Runs (video) - 11.21.2008, 11:43 AM

The fit feel and finish is outstanding, we're still working on some loose ends, but the first two test runs leave us smiling....

First time powered up, out in the street:

First time on a track:

The longer chassis option might make for a more stable vehicle for jumps?

Our next step it also see how it does with a 2-cell Lipo.

( Our 1/8 scale project is outlined at www.HandyRacing.com )

Welcome HandyRacing!

Sweet working RC. What center diff fluid are you using in the street test?

I would have to inquire with my partner, the "techno braintrust of our operation" as he's the details guru, and I'm the part time web guy and sponsor. As we put it together on a shoestring and have a long way to go, I'm trying to update as we go along so if folks want to do the same project maybe the group thing would help them out.

(For example, with a 4-cell Lipo the thing wanted to pretend to be an airplane, so we're toning down the battery power).

Thanks for checking us out and asking a good question.

Hey thanks. We put the rig together for bashing fun as there isnt really a class for it in the program we run. But its been a hoot.

I asked about the diff oil, but forgot the answer as we were really busy at the track Saturday. Still checking (again).....

From the looks of the street video it could use thicker CD fluid and the punch control raised a bit.

Thanks, yes. We have plans to alter the center diff oil to transfer some of the power to the front. We've also backed off to a 3-cell Lipo.

The traction on the pavement and the traction on an off-road dirt track are two different worlds and we're trying to find a happy medium. We also just found a local track that runs a dirt oval class, which would again be a whole different driving aspect. So, dialing it in for the particular scenario will be challenging.

It even huals arse on an off-road track with a 2-cell Lipo.

Thanks for watching and offering ideas.
