New Project - 11.30.2008, 06:23 PM

Almost finished my FLM AX-10... I'm just waiting on a set of Mayhem 7's and to do some finishing touches...

So I managed to get myself a new project :)

So the question is what to do with elecs - It is setup for 4ws at the moment with integy motors...

I have one MM spare at the moment - so can run both motors together or should I get a couple of sidewinders and a couple of outrunners.

I have no idea about clods - any mandatory upgrades?

Thanks

Ok so I now have 2 MM's for the project - I'll keep the brushed motors until they die which will be about 5 mins...

Any thoughts on the clod? Seems to only have fixed gearing / motor pinion without using an adjustement plate - correct?

Any other bits to watch out for? Any suggestions of where to buy extended bent links?

Yeah, you need to get the adjustable motor mounts. page two http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Clodbuste...p-1-c-257.html

Throw on 8t pinions and a 3 cell lipo and those 55t motors will be pretty bangin.

You could bend the stock links yourself. Looks like that rig could use some work in the suspension department anyway. The shocks are too long and the chassis sits too high. Replace them with maxx shocks set up 50/50 droop/ compression and it would probably do much better.

You also need a CC BEC for steering duty.

I still think he needs at least one small face-kicking, just for inconveniencing our friend - but after the product arrives.

why only a small face kicking? big face kicking will leave a mark.. That way you chuckle every time you see this person

Why not sidewindersand outrunners over the brushed motors?

John I have some maxx shocks with internal soft and medium springs to try a droop setup...

I have the BEC for upping the voltage to 6.2v

Not sure about the links yet - these might do the job

http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=334

Any assume I need something to attach the shocks better than a zip tie! Is this the best way to do it?
