im running a 9L on 16 cells and after a few mins it keeps melting the middle out of the spur gear (around the slipper) do i need to tighten or losen the slipper or do i just need a diffrent kind?
It sounds like the slipper is getting to hot. Are you running the stock set up? You can tighten it down for now slip or get a strobe. That is my suggestion.
Peace!

ok so what would i need to convert it just these?
Strobe Slipper Kit w/Bearings
5mm bore, mod1 pitch pinion (motor has a 5mm shaft)
Nylon 51 tooth spur gear - Ofna
and he pinions would need to be around 12 for a 51 tooth spur is this correct?
Thats all you would need, you use the stock slipper plates that you have with your current setup, that all you need, 12/51 would be good gearing for your setup.
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

ok thanks for the help guys ill order them now 12/51 is as close to the gearing i have now as tou can get havent realy tested it well dus to spur gears melting after a few mins so ill get a few pinions to experiment with
just for when it arives how would you recomend setting it up with no slip like with the stock? or diffrent just want to now im not very patient and would other wise stick it in any how ruin it and have to wait another week for another ;)
The strobe is the ultimate slipper setup for sure. the stock setup will hold up OK as well(though you MUST have new pegs and the adjustment must be as tight as possible). If you keep melting the middle, my guess is that the 6 stock pegs are worn out and no matter how tight you try to set the slipper, you will get a meltdown. Use all 12 pegs and the kung fu grip to tighten the stock slipper and you should hold up long enough to get yourself the Strobe setup. :)
If you get the 51 spur what would be the pinion that would be close to stock? and if I decide to go more torque which way with the pinion do u go? larger = more top end or do I have it backwards? THanks for the help guys
