any plastic spur gears that fit the crt x2? - 03.16.2010, 01:35 AM

anything between 45-48t that will fit is what i'm looking for. the truggy has a 48t right now, but it only geared for 38mph with a MMM 2200kv combo, so there is a little room for gear changes.

i am sick of shredding pinion gears. the longest i've had one last is 15 battery packs in my buggy (now has plastic spur) the longest i've had one last in my truggy is 5 runs. even the rcm gear i bought was wearing pretty bad until it broke.

i don't exactly go very easy on my driveline, but i have yet to see a pinion last very long when coupled with a steel spur. i ordered a dynamite gear that has teeth shaped more like a clutchbell, so hopefully, it will fare better. if not, plastic spur is my only option.

brands i have tried so far:
rc-m
robinson racing
hpi racing (surprisingly the best so far as far as noise and longevity go)
some "hardened" gear i got for free with a different motor last year
i'm hoping the dynamite gear holds up. only time (and bashing) will reveal the answer

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
