RC Videos Ideas - 05.30.2009, 12:07 PM

I posted some of this in Ryu's thread, but figured I'd start my own thread about it because I'm starved for attention.

Actually, I'm really interested in improving my videos, so I'd like to get your ideas on how I can do so. What kinds of things make R/C videos interesting for you all? What's the ideal length? I typically shoot for 3-4 minutes tops.

Example idea: I'd like to add on-board video of the subject and chase-cam on-board video behind/in front/to the side fo the subject.

I threw a few random slow-mo spots in there, along with a couple of replays. Give me some suggestions on other stuff you'd like to see to improve the video. Should I add a light soundtrack, or would you rather listen to the mosquitoes being killed by the silent assassins?

Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks.

Here is the brand new rough draft of the buggy/truggy round 1 video. It looks washed out because I had the backlight on.

Enjoy.

Here are a few older videos if you haven't seen them already:

E-Revo Speed Runs

Summit bashing/crawling

E-Revos at the track

Losi MRC first run

Clod Super Crawler

Stampede VXL speed testing

Onboard gets my vote everytime. My FlyCam is very versatile but must have ample light, and the resolution is 1.3 MP. I am looking for something like a FlyCam HD, which doesn't exist, although there are a few options I saw on Amazon. And I need a better cam with optical zoom for just shooting air and ground video.

"Should I add a light soundtrack, or would you rather listen to the mosquitoes being killed by the silent assassins?"

That should be determined mostly by the quality and substance of the audio IMO.
Most of the ones I've done have music because there's too much gear noise/wind noise to be worth a crap But I did one video 50/50 audio to music and that works sometimes too. I have some new ground and air vids with front and rear views mixed up and I'll be posting those soon.

I'd like to see some onboard crawling/low speed chase vids, that's about all I have for ideas at the moment.....
