Need help with MMM settings for a cool MedUsa

Hi guys.

What can I change in my MMM settings to lower the motor temp and overall amperege.

Settings now are:

SW: 1.21
Lipo cutoff: 3.2v/cell
Proportional W/ Reverse lockout
Brake amoount: 40%
Drag brake: 0%
Punch control: 50%
Reverse throttle: 60%
Timing: 5*
Start power: Low
Motor: Medusa 36-70-1600
Car: Hobao Hyper 8.5 pro
Battery: Zippy Rhino 4900MaH 5s
Gearing: 13/46

Bump your timing up to 10* (or whatever normal is),

What temp is your motor running at?

In the 150*F zone after 15mins, suruding temp was like 70.

You think I'm undergeard?

Well is that is the highest you get it to go?

Then you will be fine. I have the same motor as you do and run on 6s rhino 4900's in a 12 pound / 5500 gram Emaxx. When I first got it, the motor would get to about 145* and now I cannot get it passed 125*. how fast is your buggy going? try the timing and see if it cools it a bit...

Unless you're running on very loose dirt, I'd be setting punch at 0% & practicing throttle control

Ok, the track i'm runing at is a mix of lose dirt and hard packed/dryed mud.

So, my motor will run cooler with lower punch?

All punch control does is lengthen the time it takes for the throttle signal to go from what it was to what you want it to be. So, if you mash the throttle, the ESC lengthens the "ramp up". Effectively, it would be like you pushing the trigger more slowly. This helps to limit burst current and is easier on the ESC.

However, if racing with this value set too high, it can reduce the snappiness of your system. Let's say you round a corner and want to get some speed for a jump within a foot or two. High punch control will not let you get as much acceleration. Some racers would rather have 0 punch control and manually control the throttle. Bashers probably want something a bit higher to help save the drivetrain, battery, ESC, etc. I personally set mine fairly high.

No problem. Just be aware that a 0 setting will push your batteries, ESC, etc and runtime will be affected unless you have good throttle control.

I think I'm pretty good with smooth throttle, I'm not the guy who uses the hammergrip to get out of bends. Just smooooooth on the throttle.

Where do you guys have your temp limit, I stop racing when the motor gets above 170*F.
