6s for Losi 8T - 08.23.2009, 11:46 PM

I'm on the verge of buying a 6s for my 8T. I am worried about the weight. I'm thinking of get a Hyperion G3 VX 22.2V 6S 5500mah 35C/65C Lipo it weighs 870g, is this too much? If it is maybe I should get a G3 VX 22.2V 6S 5000mah it weighs 812g.

I'am sure that you can go as low as the 4200mAh with this quality pack, and on 6s, your current pull by the motor should not be realy high.

I have this pack (3300mAh) in my crt,5 and it is incredible the power this little pack can deliver

I ran a ThunderPower 6s 5000mah pack in my old 8ight-t and the balance of the car wasn't off at all which surprised me. The 5500 pack may be pushing it though. Either way, stick with the G3 VX packs as they have gotten great reviews from everyone that owns them.

I run a 5s 6000mah pack for long a-mains w/o issues and that will give the same run times. Though the pre-load needs to be adjusted a little... I'm using a pair of the Zippy 30c 5s 3k packs I wired in parallel. Heats I run my 5s 5k zippy-h packs and they are perfect.

dude dont break the bank if your only buying "A" battery.i have two 5s 5000 flight power, and two 5s 5000 turnigy, and they all perform perfect in my 8ight t 2.0. just thought i would put it out there.hyperion is definetly a high quality battery ,but also see no need for 6s.i started running 4s in my 2.0 and it was a "monster"

You can go use the 3300mah 6s pack even, my 4200mah 6s pack in my Revo... system only sucks max 120amps (very rare), typical max is about 80 amps geared 45mph. I actually wish I got the 3300's instead, as I am racing now, and the extra 150 grams would help.

But if you want the extra runtime, get the 4200's. ~25 minutes for 4200's, just under 20 mins with 3300's.

Yes, these packs are fantastic, plain and simple, and great value as well.

6s is better if you just get a lower Kv. motor.

I lost all voltage on one cell on a 2s 30c 5k turnigy after 2 charges and very light use. I have 3 others that are fine (2 4s, 1 2s) but you get what you pay for! Those G3's sure look nice though...
