Antenna Setup for Speed Runs -

What are others doing with their receiver antenna on speed run setups? My Ko Propo KR-407S 2.4Ghz receiver has an 8" antenna wire. For speed runs I need to have good range. Of course I can always do the standard vertical antenna tube. Is there another setup that might keep the antenna inside the body and get similar range? I've seen some spektrum receivers with super short antennas, but this one is a full 8". Ideas?

I'd just do an 8" antenna tube but bent and ran under the body. If you run it outside the body and end up sliding on your lid you can kiss the antenna goodbye.
It's "Dr. _paralyzed_" actually. Not like with a PhD, but Doctor like in Dr. Pepper. |

So the antenna will be horizontal, basically laying on the chassis. Think that will sacrifice a bunch of range?

I never had any range issues coiling the antenna on my Futaba 2.4GHz radio.

I run a futaba 2.4 and run mine inside the body with no problems.

I ran the antenna coiled up in my reciever box and still had good range. Nomadio react I am making a stub antenna for possibly better range though.

I run a Airtronics MX-3 and have no range issues running mine under the body. I can run it so far that I have a hard time telling what direction I am going.

I run spektrum so the RX wire is already short,so short that it is completely concealed under the body.
