Mamba Max pro in a mini slash? - 09.12.2010, 10:07 AM

hey guys...

i purchased a MMP yesterday for my 1/10 slash 4x4 then got to thinking, i STILL since last december need a ESC for my mini slash in order to race this winter

So is it possible for me to run this ESC in my mini slash with out burning somthing up?..

it will most likly be used in there with only 6cell nimh's or 2s lipo if i ever get around to ordering them..

My nimh's range from 1200mah to 1600mah and if i order lipo's they will be 2200mah 20c zippy's (if any of that makes a difference)

i'm also thinking of upgrading the motor to one of the sensored novak 380's if i can use this esc with no problems in there.

Thanks in advance guys!

I am no expert by any means but from my understanding it is the motor (gearing too) that will determine the current draw. Since the original ESC is way weaker than the MMP I think you should be fine. The only thing that might be an issue is the Ni-MH batteries. I wouldn't use them. They are not very kind to the ESC and their performance is dismal when compared to lipo. The only other issue you might have is fitting the MMP to the mini chassis. Mot much room there.

Ok thanks man..

I'm pretty sure the indoor season doesn't start till sometime in november so i've got a fair bit of time to get some batteries and possibly a motor

If i can get enough cash before indoor season starts i think i'm going to pick up first the zippy 2200mah 20c lipo's and then if i have enough after that i may pick up the novak 380 6000kv motor.

That is aslong as this esc will be fine in this setup

I'm deffinatly not worried about to much amp draw being an issue(this esc comes in the SC8e RTR) ....it's more will it last using the 1/16 batteries

I used a MMP in a mini revo with succes.using the 2s lipos would be in your best intrest, not to mention the run time you'll get out of them.

You can run the nimh without a problem on the mmpro, just don't try gearing for 40MPH with a 6 cell nimh pack.

RC-Monster RC8T 1515 2.5D/MMM/5s RC-M 4500mah
SC10 MMPro 13.5T 2s NeuEnery 5000mah
RC18T Mamba 25/5400kv 2s lipo + 6s NiMh

Now what do you guys think of using this novak 380 motor in the mini slash?: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUFF2&P=7

Will it run ok in the mini slash with out overheating?....i deffinatly wont be gearing it through the roof...maby for 20mph because of the size of our track

I would Email Novak and ask if the 380 uses the same plug and wiring pattern as other Novak products

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
