I just bought my next project. I just bought a 8ight roller. I plan on getting a MM 2200kv and ESC. I want to refresh all fluids, so any sugestions for shock, front and rear diff's? I will mostly use this to bash but it may see some racing if I can ever find time.

I'm going to use another Mamba Monster 2200kv and to be able to use it with the motor mount I will have to tap the mounting holes on the motor for 4 mm. Any sugestions? should I take the motor apart to do this or can I just use the tap with the motor assembled?

Take the three front screws out, remove the front endbell and tap hole, then reassemble, You do NOT want any metal shavings inside the motor....

Yeah I have the Buggy, Too. Its a TANK. I havent broke much on her over 2 years of Hard Bashing. I have an Emaxx too and the Buggy kills in terms of durability.

Very Versatile Platform... Check my Sig if you want to check it out. Buggy, street Rally, and Short Course. Just a couple bumpers and well placed body mounts.

I will. I need to post pics of my Losi 22 and my new Emaxx ( really my original Maxx with several mods). I need to refresh the fluids in the three diffs and the shocks,paint my new body and I will post. Mean time I'll try to get the pics of the other two. I'm really excited about the new ride. My first buggy the 22 is a blast to drive. A very different experience than the two Emaxx's that I own. I think 4wd and 1/8 scale=tons of fun. It's great to know how durable it is. My 22 can take ten time the punishment of my original 3908 Emaxx (5 min's....break,....fix, repeat!!!).

So I have finally found some time to work on my new Losi!!!! I have refreshed all the fluids in the shocks and the three diffs. I'm not totally set on my choices of diff fluid I will just have to see how it drives on the track. I have 5k in the front diff, 7k in the center, and 2k in the rear. The problem is that this buggy came with a smart diff, and once I got the diff back together and bolted back on to the chassis I realized (from the instructions) that they recommend using the smart diff grease. There is no mention of using silicone diff oil in the smart diff. Does anyone have experience with the smart diff and is it a bad idea to use silicone diff oil instead of the smart diff grease?

yea, change it back to grease, the smart diff doesnt work well full of fluid

I got the smart grease in the diff, but both times I had trouble getting the diff back together. Is there a trick to getting the gear mesh perfect when rebuilding the smart diff? Both times I cleaned out the smart diff and put it back together I had a very difficult time getting the gear mesh smooth. I had to pull it apart and put it back together several times to get the gear mesh smooth. Most diffs I have put together are not near as difficult to get right. I don't think I did anything different each time I got it to the point that it was nice and smooth. Is it just the smart diff? Or was I just having bad luck? One other question, does anyone have any experience with the tuned flex chassis for this buggy? I'm thinking of replacing the chassis and figure I would go for that. I wonder if it's worth the money?

I'd say the stock chassis is plenty although it depends on what you're doing? No idea about the diffs or lipo though, sorry

Gens Ace lipos are constantly in & out of stock- more out than in though, so check back often or consider a different option ( Hyperion G3s perhaps, or Turnigy Nanotechs from the US warehouse if they have them ).

yeah I was thinking about those. I'm going to lay off the Turningy's for awhile. I have three that have puffed on me and I'm not to keen on the nanotechs anymore!!!!!
