Traxxas Spartan motor? - 06.25.2011, 05:53 PM

Apparently it's a new motor from Castle to replace the crappy Feigao that Traxxas were supplying the boat with ( lots of failures and heat issues etc )- any info on it ( kv, size etc )?

HAHA, looks like I found my new boat.

All I need to know is when to expect the boat with this motor to ship, and if it will carry a diff part number?

Officially I can't confirm nor deny the existence of this motor.

According to something posted recently I believe it will be getting the full CC treatment, not just the motor.

Good to see this. This is why I am never an early adopter of new products, I like to wait a year then buy it when it gets Castle-ized!

I am really happy to see Castle going in this direction. Not so much the motor 9although their motors are tops) but more so with the ESCs. Obviously the the ESC talked about here is waterproof but also they are doing waterproofed ESCs for couple of HPI cars. Can't wait till they start selling the MMM as waterproof unit. I know you can do it yourself but having to say goodbye to your warranty isn't exactly all that good. Keep up the great work Castle.

The ESC is indeed waterproof but is also water cooled. It's not like this is the first marine water cooled ESC castle has made either. They have a pretty good record in that department.
