High speed buggy?? - 10.25.2010, 04:59 PM

If I wanted to take back my high speed open wheel title what converted buggy or truggy have you guys used or recomend? I figured I would be better off with a buggy or truggy rather than another emaxx. Remember length would most likely help high speed stability.

They are GRP Rally Tires. Get em on Ebay (I did) or GRPGandini site.

+1 on the 8ight. But I would add a L8ight Bumper, and an 8ight-T chassis. They will all bolt right on. just need center CVs. With buggy arms, Truggy length chassis, Slammed like a L8ight (with wedge type body); Castle 1520 - 8s on the New MMMXL. I see 110+ mph easy...

Buy em quick!!

Edit: I just noticed they have the Sweet Spoked rims too! Lucky!

Maxx - FLM, MMM, CD Med.36x706s
Raja - FLM Ext. MM, 1512, 4s
SC8ight - MMM, 1520, 6s
D8T - MMM 1717 6s

nope...losi discontinued them 2 years ago. you can get them directly through GRP though.

the B soft compound is what i used. Shipping is $30, but they have them to your door in 3-5 days.

Beau: Honestly, the best way to do it will be to basically buggy-ize your E-maxx. I would make a flat chassis with a center diff like the buggies do. I would then get 17mm adapters and run the GRP or Ofna tires. The Ofna's are really sticky!!

The reason I say this is because where buggies use a 3.30 fr/rr diff ratio where the stock emaxx is 2.73. This plays into your hand and helps with gearing.

Believe me gearing was the least of my problems when doing my runs. I think on my final runs I was geared for over 120mph. Not to mention I was running UE 1/8 scale diffs also. Cant remember exact ratio though. Personally I think I had way too much power on 6s. I bet I could of went faster on 4 or 5s . Ofna onroad gtz or gtp (whatever it is ) went 113mph on 4s with mmm same motor and similer weight. nic case went 129 with a shumacher car on 3s and mmm.

Those cars were more aerodynamically sound as well...

You think they can handle the centrifical forces of spinnin 100mph plus. I seen one of those losi tires split at speed and it flip the car on the lid and he went through the trap upside down.
