Why no women in R/C? -
11.18.2006, 05:54 PM
I don't think I've ever met a single women who was into RC, never seen one in the LHS (that was there for herself) and have never seen a woman post on a rc forum. While I'm sure there are a few, generally its prolly 99+% men.
Any theories?
I've noticed this with a lot of other hobbies, as its usually entirely men, but R/C seems to be the most male dominated of them yet. I bought my wife a XXT so she could play with me and my bro in law when we get together, but really has no interest in it aside from that, and never fixes the car when it needs it. Basically if I don't do it, she won't have it the few times a year she wants to join in.
Hmm...

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

This thread gives me some sick feelings.
The thing that women do not like RCing as much as we do is the same as most of us dont go for make up, under wear, night dresses' markets as much as they do( we are of opposite genders. in most cases, what they hate, we like. What we hate, they like.)
We also hate to go shopping for our houses and would rather keep the money for modifying our RC rigs and spare parts. Probably that's why they hate this hobby.
You " husbands" should look for the dark side of this hobby.
You really dont know, maybe you'll end up in a rotten house, your wife has left you alone, your children are suing you in the court and you are being arrested for loving rc more than anything else........could this really happen????......I surely hope not.
My family is already turning crazy at me for devoting lots of my time for these small lovely machines...:)
The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!

I've never seen a girl at my track, i've see ONE girl in a bashing vid before and one fat ulgy chick that works a allied hobbies (prob doesnt even race, its just probably the daughter of owner or something). This reminds of a vid i saw somewhere where they explained why women dont play video games. Theres always exceptions where theres a hot racer chick, but i bet the been taken already.

That's their sister ;). I'm not sure if she is really into RC anymore, last I heard her Rustler was just sitting somewhere.
Here's a theory - many (un-married) women spend a lot of money on cosmetic items, so much so that they wouldn't have enough left to spend on RC.
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

Exactly.
I once asked my sisters why they aren't interested in rc and they said they dont feel any sort of interest in it.
They asked me, why dont you go and pick up some nice men wear from Jeordano, Millano, Promod, Mango....yup, you name it.
