Ok, so I bought this off e-bay for a good price:
http://www.sportwerksrc.com/Products...ProdID=SWK1400

I am going to go brushless with it and wanted some input on an ESC

A. Mamba 25
http://www.castlecreations.com/products/mamba.html

B. Mini Tazer
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=DYN4930

C. Quark 33 or 22 amp
http://www.b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=ea_Quark33Car
http://www.b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=eb_Quark22Car

I am thinking of using this motor
http://www.b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=dg_Align
or this one
http://www.b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=dz_permax400

I plan on using a 2 or 3 cell lipo

What do you guys think? Am I on the right track.

Stormer hobbies are selling the chaos right now for 99 bucks! I might buy one just to play with as it is!

And I did just buy one! Man I need to stop buying RCs!

Good luck with your conversion and post up some pics!

Who knows? I think that they are trying to clear them out, stormer often has deals like this when products are being discontinued.

If found it in ebay for $78,87.

It has a wide alu chassis, very nice for electric conversion.

Do you know what pitch is the spur gear? 32p or MOD1?

I have about 40 right now. Must have about 15 4wd monster trucks/truggies at the monent. A couple of boats, some 2wd stadium truks, 1/8 buggies, on road larger scale, a few minis, and a selection of tamiya vehicles!

That is a good motor, I used it with a quark 33 and it worked very well. It was in a tamiya 10th scale fwd vehicle. It was a great setup, but it was a bit heavy and the motor ran too warm for my liking. I am sure that it will work well for your application.

The pitch may be 48 pitch, or possibly metric 48p, tamiya uses those on the on road vehicles.

just fyi, i was reading a bit on rcu about these and people are stripping the diffs with the stock .05 motor. you're probably going to see some issues with brushless power. there is a question whether on not the irc gears will fit. they have a metal gear upgrade.

I hope someone will try the IRC gears. if it works that will be a great way to upgrade
