Quark out of the US? - 03.13.2008, 03:46 PM

I have heard from more than one person that Quark may be (or already has) pulled out of the US market. Considering that my phone calls have gone unanswered in the past 6 weeks, this doesn't surprise me at this point. Anybody else hear this?

I called a couple weeks ago to the number on the website and it said it was disconnected and gave a new number. I called the new number and they answered the phone and answered my questions about the new controller line that is supposed to be out in April for the US.
I was weird that the number was disconnected and the website had not been updated. (and still isn't as far as I know.)

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

The address for returns changed at some point recently. I returned a damaged 125b and they sent me a new one. No emails or phone calls, just got one in the mail.

Bizzarre... when you say pulling out of the US market, what exactly do you mean? Leaving for foreign shores where its cheaper to make the escs, or stopping selling in the US directly altogether?...

I don't quite think you can base your assumptions on a few unanswered phonecalls.

This is pure ungrounded speculation.

They are not US based... I think they are from Korea?

Anyway... they were closely tied with Hacker/Aeromodel, so I wonder if there has been a change in that relationship which forced them to move.

It is based on more than a few unanswered phone calls, but some of the specifics I can't talk about on a forum.

When I say pulling out of the US, I mean getting rid of the US division. Maybe having another importer, but no Quark USA.

They are based in Korea. I would assume that is where the controllers are made, but they may be made in another country.
