Heavy Duty Velcro? - 04.15.2008, 10:40 PM

I cannot seem to find this stuff. It is the type that is hard plastic "fingers" on both sides that almost "click" into each other. It does not have a fuzzy side. Both sides appear to be the same, and it is adhesive backed. Any links would be handy, or maybe who sells it. I have a few hardware stores in the area and a lowes/home depot. Have not found it yet though...

Anyone have any experience with this stuff. I used a few 2nd hand pieces to hold a receiver on and it worked great. I only want to use it for receivers and becs. Anything heavier than that gets double stick and zipties!

Me and my brother uses velcro that looksl like what you describe.

It can hold a ubec and recevier without any problem. I even use it on my mamba max but that has gotten loose a couple of times!

It so strong that I can lift my car just holding the velcroed receiver!

Here is a pic http://smail.dyndns.org/album/?cwd=R...D=15&size=orig.

I live in Sweden though so I cant help you find it in the states :(

I have used a velcro like that before. I bought it at the local craft store. Check there first.

Homedepot/ lowes have that stuff - My only comment was I found it so strong it effectively became servo tape. The velcro bond is stronger almost that the adhesive bond so I went back to regular strong velcro...

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the EZ-Pass system on the New York State Toll roads (and surrounding toll roads), but they use that stuff to stick a little (several oz maybe?) radio transmitter box onto the windshield so you can go through an automated toll lane at the toll booths.
I have had these things in my cars for almost 10 years now, and not once have I seen it fall off (plenty of pot holes in Upstate NY too). So, as long as the object isn't heavy (or in a servo's case try to exert a force while staying stationary) it should work out fine.
