Question about motor rpm - 08.23.2009, 09:19 PM

If I have the same setup.....5k 5s, and one motor spinning 35k rpm and the other at 32k, will there be a noticeable amt. of run time difference....geared the same

set up:1. mmm esc
2200kv ccneu
5s 5k li-po

2. mmm esc
1515 2d Neu
5s 5k

The Neu spins 3k slower than the ccneu....so I am figuring that I should get a couple of extra mins. of run time assuming nothing changes but the motors.....yes, no

I run those same setups. the 2d stays a bit cooler (its finned) the CC 2200 and my neu 1y run about the same. I think its more about the gearing and lipos, you run g3s if I reacall though so thats not a problem. I don't notice any real difference in runtime maybe a minute. It may matter in a race but I just bash around

I haven't bought batts. yet...so as a basher I won't worry about the small amount of runtime

no, its not like you will get an extra 5 minutes of funtime. When I gear them real tall for faster runs I do notice they (30c neus) die out quicker. Id say averaged gearing you really cant tell.
