Which motor for xxxt on 8 cells? - 09.11.2005, 02:29 PM

i'm having trouble deciding which motor to use in my MF2 on 8 gp2200s so i'd appreciate your thoughts guys.

8 cells will likely be the max cells i'll use in this case as they fit nicely in the truck under the stock battery strap for a neat installation.

The truck is very light so i was thinking either basic 4200 or basic 5300.It seems as though the 4200 is most ideal at slightly higher voltage and the 5300 at slightly lower?

Also, should i be considering a basic xl series, perhaps xl5000.

i've been running an ss5800 on 6 matched peak racing world spec gp3700s with 18/86 gearing but i'd like more power and top speed.

At the moment i'm thinking to go with basic 4200 with higher gearing.

I think that about covers it,as always i appreciate your advise, thank you.

one word.. 4200

It is an amazing motor on 8 cells.. very powerfull! if you are used to the SS5800, be prepared!! you could take the 5300 though, but you are using 2200 mah cells only, so to get some more runtime i would take the 4200..

Thanks Serum, just to be clear are we talking about the basic 4200 and not the basic xl4200? Only i noticed Batfish using the xl4200 in his Jato.

Thank you.
