New to the BLST need some ideas - 05.02.2008, 01:49 AM

Hey everyone, I am in the process of purchasing a roller lst and i need some advice on what to put on the rig. I dont know what to do for the motor mount at this time, i was thinking about using the fine design clamp set up, but then i wouldent be able to use the RCM heat sink anyone know of any other mounts that would work with the heatsink. My next problem is the ESC and motor. At this time i am thinking about using a MMM and a neu, but being a noob when it comes to understanding the who neu motor categorizing im not sure which to use. Im not looking for like the best and most powerful one im just looking for one that is reliable, hopefully not to much either.

Look on the MMM site as they recommend a Neu motor to use with their ESC.

As for a mount, check my pics out, it's simple & can take a variety of motors as well as the heatsink. It's a custom design.

I steered away from the FD mount as I didn't want to be restricted with my motor choice.

I'm using a Quark SSB MkIII in my BLST it also comes with a hand controller to tune at the track.

It finally arrived at my LHS. I should be able to pick it up Monday or Tuesday (fingers crossed) & then I'll post some pics of it.

Ditch the center trans, Get either an axi 41/30 outrunner or a xt 63-64 Outrunner then direct drive off the shaft to the diffs

all with the MMM and 6s :D

Waaaaayyyyy too much work dude.

I believe a conversion should be simple & cost effective, doing the above will not be as there would have to be many more custom manufactured parts unless you can already buy them in a kit.

Actually it's not really that much work.. all you have to do is build a mount...

hmm ok, what size motor do you think would wrok with with the lst, would a 1512 handle the weight? or should i go with a 1515 for safety? oh yeah the lst is has the extreme engineering cf kit on it so it should be lower weight then the rest haha.
