MMM & DX3R Programming - 05.08.2008, 06:43 PM

I have everything soldered and connected, When going through initial setup I can get the Monster to find full throttle and full brake/reverse, I can not seem to get that final programming in of neutral.

I set defaults on the radio for this model before I even began. I am starting to play around with the deadband settings. Does anyone know the secret to get past this final sequence so i can see just how well this sucker works?

Try increasing the throttle deadzone a little. The DX3.0 has it so I assume the 3R does too...

i've gone every step up there is, still can not find neutral. grrrr. working my way down now, not that it should help... I wish I still had analog tx/rx.

I've turned arming time all the way up too.

The the weird thing is it will find neutral as full reverse if I stop there.

I have tried every dead band setting, no luck :(

Works just fine on my MM at default settings.

Reversing? - 05.08.2008, 07:17 PM

When I ran into the same problem programming a Quark, it turned out I had my throttle setting reversed on the tx.

I set defaults 0n the radio before I began. I just tried reversing it though and same thing, it just can not find neutral.

The fan is getting broken in nicely. I think it is silly to run the fan during castle linking, but hey.

I think this may have been one of the bugs people have been talking about.

Edit for clarification: No one has said there are bugs with the MMM, some are just expecting some and said they would wait until they have been ironed out.

Ah, the fan just runs all the time when there is power on the bus... it is silly, you are right. :)

I haven't heard of any issues with neutral programming -- can you put a servo on the throttle channel to make sure it isn't doing something weird? (make sure you have both forward and reverse (brake) throw, good center position, etc.)

The older firmware had no effect, going back to the new one.

the throtle channel is fine I put the rx back in my tc4 and all functions fine when the radio is change to the model. It has an MM.

Let me see if I can find an rx pack and try the servo. thanks

rx pack plugged in and a servo into throttle and throws are fine, the dx3r monitor shows the throws as fine as well. going exactly to the calibration points.

Last thing I'd ask you to do is to program the points the same as the setup with the MM -- see if that works.

Thanx!

throttle and brake end points both set to 100% (default) same as in the tc4, I set the steering trims the same at 121/98.

I have tried using the tc4 model on the tx as well as it bound to the same rx.

It will not take neutral setting.

I reprogrammed the mm as well to verify the radio is capable of programming an esc.

I re-bound the rx to the channel. all ok! :D Thank you everyone for their help and Patrick most of all, talk about customer service. it is dark now but I will go play a little ;)

After re binding it will program at default MMM settings too.

power on radio, hold throttle at full, power on MMM wait through beep and light sequences until red led is flashing, push throttle to full brake\reverse and hold through beeping and light until the yellow led flashes, release throttle to neutral position until beep sequences and light flashes are done and the system arms.
