got the call to do a show - 05.23.2008, 10:09 PM

Well i got called yesterday to do a fmx show/exibhition tomorrow night at this big memorial day benefit race for this kid, sounds good and all but the two day notice kinda made me mad because bruce had are already planned on me coming for two weeks ahead of time and then calls me 2 days before, i had already planned to go to the RC race saturday since i still cant ride a whole moto yet from my injury back at easter with my back, so now i gotta do a show infront of hundreds on people and i havent even ridden ANY fmx in 2008 sounds like fun huh, i practiced today before loading up and i can still do it but none of its fluid and smooth still kinda sketchy taking much risk i dont wanna come down wrong and hurt my back AGAIN, so wish me luck hopefully i dont look like an loser tomorrow night but since the other guys riding the show with me cant do much at all maybe i can get my better tricks out and atleast look good compared to them right... ....

and i spent all my extra time this week rebuilding my truck to race againist the 1/8scale buggies this weekend and now i gotta go to westmonroe

i recruited the party crew to tag along so maybe i can make the most of this trip afterall, HEY lincpimp your in LA how far are you from westmonroe/ monroe? you bring a couple of your trucks and ill bring mine and we can do a fmx show with the R/C's, and then party afterwards.....

I am diagonally across LA from monroe, about 6-7 hours away. I have been there a few times, but can't make it this weekend. Sometimes my crawler buddies go up to arkansas for comps. I will tag along next time and maybe we can meet up?! I am working on a crawler right now, so I will have some reason to go!

where in arkansas do they go? that really nice track ive posted pictures of is in Hotsprings, i know they have a full scale trail and crawling park for jeeps and such (superlift offroad park), but yea let me know where it is when you go and ill let you if i can make it....

youve seen the video of my ls10 going off my fmx ramp on youtube and im debating on wether or not it would clear a 65 foot gap, the gap in the video on youtube is only 40 feet but i was only at about 2/3 throttle and i completely over shot the landing then. hhmm i might have a video of a HUGE jump for an RC truck to post up tomorrow night when i get back.......

Do it! The Ls10 is sturdy, it should be able to take it. I would love to take my HV Savage off a jump like that, especially at full speed!

well the show turned into more of a demo/ exhibtion which was better i think had me and 9 dirtbike out there hitting my ramp 9 with 300-400 people watching for over an hour, all but one of the dirtbikers had never seen or hit a ramp so they had a blast and its was alot of fun to ride with people that are just happy to be hitting the ramp..........i didnt take the ls10 cause i was in a hurry this mourning..........but i will get another video up soon with more big ramp footage. haha i took 4 people with me and asked for someone to take pics , well that last for a whole 5 minutes then they wanted to video camera it. so i end up with 5 pics 3 are blurry and only 2 were decent........guess il have to wait to see the video my friend makes

im super sorethis mourning im gonna have to get back in the groove and ride more lol but actually i might have sold my ramp....... so i might be building me a trailer ramp to replace it over the summer which would be SO much better than loading and unloading this one, they seemed really serious about buying it but if they dont i might put an axle and tounge on this one and finish it out

Hi Ross,

Axle placement is the most important thing in determining how well a trailer tows. This will be easy for you since you will know exactly what the GVW is, now take 10 to 15% of that value and that is what the tongue should weigh, for example, if the trailer weighs 1000lbs when done the tongue should weigh 100 to 150lbs.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Rob

thanks for the offer rob but ive already built two trailers to haul quads on and sold them both so axle placent on this will be easy 16 inches rear of the balance point is wear i will put it this will give me roughly 150 pounds on the hitch ,the axle will be EASLIY removed so im still designing this aspect, my first thoughts were to make it fold up into itself, and now im thinking how much easier it would be to just have two sidewind jacks mounted to where you pull the two pins out of the sping and shackle and then just roll the whole axle out from under it when its not being towed.
