dual fan question - 11.10.2008, 10:57 AM

i just got done building a dual mamba/ feigao e-maxx, and i'm looking to mount the 2 novak fans onto the escs.

do you think my receiver will handle that much voltage? the fans are 5V each

if not i was thinking about this.....

i can power the fans off of a stock mini 18t battery pack(7.2V nimh)with a y harness or is that not enough? i usually work with 12V fans so i'm kinda in the dark about this.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Voltage wont be the issue- its the current draw of the fans that will rob the rx of power and cause glitching. I wouldnt have thought it would be too bad though- 6v fans are puny and draw onyl a few milli-amps. If however you do get loss of signal, powering them from a 7.2v battery shouod be fine- just find somewhere suitable to mount it securely.
