Mamba Max Heatsink - 06.19.2008, 05:34 PM

How do I remove the Mamba Max Heatsink.I will be putting a larger heatsink fastened with thermal epoxy. With this mod and a BEC and fan help to bring down temps on the MM.I am just wanting to run my 8T.It already have the BEC and fan.I need somethine to tide me over till I get my 2 MMM repaired.

Is there a way to remove the heatsink from the MM without damaging it.The summer temp now ranges from the upper 80s plus its gonna be a month till my Mamba Monsters will be fixed.

BrianG said in another thread to throw it in the freezer, but contact him before you do it.

Yeah, I believe he said to put it in a freezer, then once the glue is nice and frozen, carefully slide an exacto blade in between the FETs and heatsink. Be very very careful not to rip up any FETs though as you do so....

Wow this little MM realy rocks with the bec, fan. It was pretty hot here today.I ran 4s and my Tekno Neu 1515/1.5d/f and temps were 160f on the MM.The motor seemed to run cooler on the MM ESC compared to the MMM though I raised the BEC voltage to 6.0 volts more rpm on the novak fan.I allready have a 25mmX25mm magnetic levitation fan wired to go.It came no connectors.I did hammer a few crossup wheelies never full throttle though.
