what are the max temps?

i Had a someone ask me this and i didnt really have a solid answer so you guys help me out, what is the max temp brushless motors can take before demagnetizing, or just cooking themselves?

I think the motor manufacturers will tell you 200F is the limit before you get into the danger zone. I personally wouldn't want to see my motor go over 180 or so.


I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...

That sounds about right. Most mfgs say to keep everything under 200f. I will agree with jhautz that 180f is about as high as I like to go...

I believe some of the german mfg. say 100 C. But I too don't like anything over 180.

well i think i burnt my 10xl up about 30 minutes ago lol was reading 206, i may have gotten it too hot during the main and didnt get a good temp reading, but tonight it hit 200 within about 4 mins of just running on pavement testing out brake and throttle curve changes on the mm, atleast i know my MM is still good as it was only reading 118 with no fan. so i think i found better settings on the controller for temps but my motor shot i believe.
