Idea for 6S FLM Savage - will it be ok?? - 08.03.2008, 05:26 AM

So i have my FLM savage ( http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13463 ), and i've been thinking of leaving the 2230 where it is (in the LST) and going for a 1950/8 on 6S instead? =)

The problem is, i know little about how you go about choosing a lipos right for certain setups etc... anyways, here's the plan...

*FLM Savage (http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13463 )
*Lehner 1950/8
*MGM-Compro 16024 Car Truck controller - but i'll probably use the 'air' style instead of the cube for space reasons... unless someone can give me the dimensions of the 16024 cube please? =)

**PolyRC 6000MAh 6S 22.2volt 25C pack (168x48x67mm)

*This is the part i need help on - i'm fairly certain it will work - but is there a better option to take?? I want balls, but moreso runtime - if i can get around 30 minutes and not be slouching round too much, i'd be laughing... how do i work out the runtime i'll end up with??? Is there another pack that would work better with the setup i wanna run?

Thanks guys =)

I think 20 minute runs are more realistic and I would stick with a neu 1515 if I were you. I'm doing a flm savage right now with the exact same gear only in 5s. Good luck!

Why do you recommend the Neu over the Lehner? =)

Is there an entirely different combo that could give me over 30 mins?? It's just that the room runs out - the above pack i mentioned only just scrapes in with a few mm to spare...

I like long runs too in fact I have 2 PQ 5s 6000mah packs sitting here and after 20 minutes you may want to take a break grab a beer and let your motor cool down. It only takes less than a minute to swap packs (if you have two of them) so if I were you I would just grab two packs and you'll be set. And as far as lehner goes...well Iv'e owned 7 and have replaced 5 of them with neu. The neu motor is way better...better motor..better price...easy to obtain and the germans are not easy to deal with at all. They are next to impossible to get your hands on (like a pink diamond) they are pretty though. Do some searching on this forum theirs tons of info on the lehner motors bro!
