Money Order Issue... - 08.22.2008, 01:32 PM

Ok before you guys get all "paypal is the way to go" kinda thing just listen. I sent out a money order for the 1/5 last tuesday to the guy who I bought the 1/5 from. Problem is something happened in transaction of the mailing to him. Heres what tracking on the mailing says right now...

"Status: Missent

Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Is this anything to be worried about because it says its been corrected but hasnt been delivered yet.

Yes I did for $650. Thats not the point right now. I would have to wait 14 days for them to confirm its lost and I get my money. The guy I sent the MO to seems like a patient guy so we'll see.

I personally avoid people especially on Ebay who will only accept money orders and cashiers checks. They know that with paypal the buyer will 98% of the time get there money back if they get screwed. I would be a tad concerned. Does this guy have any feedback or kudos from other people who bought from him?

Although I would never do a MO - this appears to be a USPS issue rather than anything under the guy control - sods law it just happened with a large MO

i had this once and it means that the post office messed up. they sent it to the wrong address and at least realized it so they are sending it to the correct address now. Actually a MO is safer than Paypal. You get delivery confirmation and you have all receipts on the money order and if the person tries to screw you, you have every recourse to get money back or the item. This is all done through paypal though with the money order option of sending a payment.

To me it sounds like the zip code was off or it was simply placed in the wrong box and is being re delivered. I wouldn't worry just yet.

I agree MO's are safer than paypal. I've used MO's many times and have always been good to me.
