8mm CVD's and Steering blocks ??? - 11.10.2005, 11:23 AM

Hello,

Im looking at getting the 8mm UE steel CVDs but wondering if they will fit the integy steering blocks?

Do i just need to change bearings? do the UE cvds include them?

Front the UE website it seems i would need to change bearings but it sez they are 16mm outta diametre but the integy blocks fit 15mm diametre bearings though this could be my measuring

Thanks

You'd need other bearing's. UE doesn't include any bearing's w/ cvd's, only w/ steering block's.

I doubt it. It must be a very tight and alligned hole in order for the bearing to work correct. If the hole isn't 100% circlylar(sp?) the wheel can wobble badle and you will blow allot of bearing's. Not worth trying. Unless you know some machine shop you can ask them to do it for you.

I searched quite some time for those 15X8X5 bearings. They don't exist in a pricefriendly range..

Why would you use the 8mm's?

I have the integy suspension system racer x. They said 15 mm for my bearings as well. The 16 mm bearings are in my knuckles with out modifaction. I know what integy says but double check to make sure they are 15mm. If you read the site for the cvd kit. It says that it come with bearings. Unless i reading this wrong.

Peace!

I also think they come with bearings. Mike will let you know for sure. Both 8mm and 6mm shafts use a 16mm outside dimension.

I got the integy knuckles and they do come with bearings, it even says they come with bearings in the description of the product. they come with bearings cause they are bigger bearings than stock.

And the older type of the UE racer X also uses the 15 mm bearing, instead of the 16's.
Someone on the UE board tried getting this 15X8 mm bearings too, but Robin told him that it would be easier to have the knuckles made bigger by a machinist.
