Hobby shop in NY?

Hi all,

I'm going to New York soon and I was trying to find hobby shops preferably in Manhattan area. Does anyone have any tips? Anyone from NY?

I would like to buy a hyperion charger and maybe some Lipo batteries! RC-Monster is in the state om NY but very far from the city right?

The VAT in Sweden is 25% so I can save some money by buying in a shop in NY :)

I doubt there is anything in Manhattan, probably something in Brooklyn or elsewhere on Long Island. RC_Monster is a 1-2hr train ride north of the city. Might even check into New Jersey...


Edit: After some googling....
RC-Monster is a 70-90minute train ride from Manhattan then a 17mile car/cab ride to Montgomery, NY

Im only in NY for 3 days so I doubt I have time to get out of the city :(
Does Mike have a store that is worth visiting or is it mainly a online shop?

Manhattan had nothing when I lived there, there was 1 shop that sells trains on the lower west side around id say 14th, they have some rc stuff but mainly euro imports, compagnucci and alot of xmod stuff, not a nice selection in Manhattan like youd hope being a big city. Brooklyn has some great hobby shops but they were mainly 1/5 gas, things may have changed, I ran from there after 9/11

yes 610i dual charger is instock. and yes the webstore is not updated in a year. pretty much gave up on it.

I looked it up on google earth and the spelling is right but a bit too far for me :( Thanks though!

Since you are in NY. You could plan a day trip up to Montgomery/Chester NY for the day on Sunday and attend Mike RCM bash and get a charger from him while your there.

Just an Idea. Not sure if you will still be around on Sunday or even have the time for a day trip, but it would be a chance to meeto some of the forum memebers and see some great brushless racing action.

That would have been awsome, but Im going home on Sunday! :(

I searched for RC-Monster on Google earth and I found a youtube video of a CRT .5 on the RCM-Bash so I think I know where it is :)
