Different bodies for their 8ight - 10.18.2008, 01:09 AM

I just picked up the Proline Harddrive body for the Losi 8ight on an impulse. I noticed they also had another body there other then the Losi body. Shoot can't think of the name now. Maybe it was a Desert Rat. It didn't look a lot different. The hardrive had some vent louvers on it is the only major difference that stood out at me. Looking throught plastic wrapping trying to see which had more space under the hood.

Anyone got something different or a custom paint job of the losi 8ight body they can share some pictures of. Don't forget to throw in the picture of the buggy without the cover. The unspoken rule at RCM it seem.

I will post up some pics of the HD body when I get it don't. Waiting for the insperation to kick in. Seems like you really need to be in the right mood to paint a body. Unless the body is that of a SI swimsuit model. Tough job that's gotta be.

Proline have 2 bodies out. The Hardrive and the Crowd Pleazer. Jconcepts also have a body out for the 8ight. There is a few other companies out there that sell bodies for it. I am wanting to get the new 8IGHT-E body for mine

Proline HardDrive #1494-00

Proline Crowd Pleazer #3232-00

Jconcepts Illuzion #0034

Losi 8IGHT-E Body LOSA8097

The 8IGHT-E body has more cooling holes and because of this it makes the side of the body sit higher to clear the electronics

So far it looks like they did a good job on the E body. I also like the Jconceptz body, it looks really low profile. Anyone selling there 8ight for the 2.0?

I won't be. Unless parts start coming hard to find for the 8ight but most parts on the 2.0 are mean't to fit the 1 anyway. Wonder if there is a new truggy on the way at all?

just got my 8ight-e body off of ebay and it looks pretty sweet....there is a lot more clearance for the batteries now....the biggest pack i own is a 4s 5000 neuenergy and there is still a couple more mm's of space between the battery and the body...definitly better than the battery actually touching the body....AND all the body si already trimmed and the cooling holes already cut out...all you have to do is paint it....

Will you post some picutures of it when you get it painted? Sounds nice with the extra room.

yeah there is a lot more room for taller batteries...but i work for 48hrs straight so i won;t be home until friday morning and will post pictures of the clearance then....all i have are these pics that i used to show my cousin my paint job/sticker applications
the 8ight-e bodies are now rounded outwards at the bottoms of the windows where the batteries used to touch in the old bodies...

this is the best i could do....the dimensions of the 4s 5000mah neuenergy packs are 47mm X 138mm X 48mm and the lengths and widths are not a problem for bigger packs since my 4s 5000mah zippy-h's fit perfectly but i can't be 100% sure about the body clearance for the height of the battery.....with the neu lipo in there it does have approx. 2-3mm maybe more of clearance from the top edge of the battery that is closest to the body......hope this helps....and here are the pics
