Tire question ? - 11.21.2008, 05:19 PM

I picked up some losi super bolt-on tires and the foams that came with them are smashed on 1/2 of it(from packaging). So even letting them sit for a few days the foam didnt swell back up. I tried to install them but had huge flat spots in the tire b/c of it. So I was wondering what foam will work in these tires? They are 40 series , inside diameter is 3.7in (where the tire meets the rim) outside diameter is 6 inches (without tread) 6.4 inch with the tread

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I highly recommend the Ofna molded foam inserts- www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCHofna+foam
Scroll down a bit, pretty sure your size is there.

Another trick is to soak them in water, wring them out, and dry them.

those losi bolt ons are very good tires. theres a guy that swears by them along with the proline mulchers. and this guy has owned just about every popular tire.
what truck are you putting them on?

I had a set of 40 series mulchers too. I just got finished balancing them. They are now spinning vey smooth. Now I just cant wait until the mmm/ combo shows up so I can run. I got the bolt-on tires b/c so many people around here have raved about them. So I figuired I would give them a try. I picked up some losi force rims to go with them. They look nice but the super long center cap bolts are a pain.

The stock tire weighed in at 9 oz and the losi ones are 11oz. Not a huge weight difference. I do hope the diffs hold up to the extra weight and the power of the castle system. I do like the way it looks

Yeah Im sure that I will have a few bare spot in the yard from them. My britherinlaw is using my old mulchers so between the two of us I dont think I am going to have to mow(which is a good thing b/c I hate mowing)
