can't get my 9920 and 9xl setup to work with ubec - 12.09.2005, 09:07 AM

I got it all hooked up only on 14 cells for now (still waiting for 6 more) it would work with a lot of coging without the ubec using the bec from the controler, when i removed the black jumper and pluged in the ubec the throttle would not work. The steering would work but not the throttle strange? Does it matter if you remove the jumper when power is connected to the controler; because I messed with it multiple times and always had it unplugged when i removed the jumper, i guess maybe you have to remove it when it is powered up???, I'll try that when I get home from work.... any ideas why this is not working correctly, i would assume the cogging is from not enough cells and using the controler's bec does that sound correct?

Try to reprogram the 9920 and report in as fast as you can.

I have multiple times, the only thing i can think of is that removing the jumper with the batts unplugged doesnt disable the bec and with the ubec it messes up the recever. I will try to reprogram it when i get home from work though, the thing is I could not get it to program with the ubec pluged in, only in bec mode, ubec mode steering would work fine untill i plugged the controler into the recever, then it went screwy (this is with the black jumper removed btw)

Make sure you are plugging the controller lead into the receiver in the proper orientation. If you have steering, but no throttle, it sounds like the copntroller lead could be in backwards. Also, make sure your throttle channel is not reversed and re-program it. LMK if this works. I am sure we can figure it out, though.

Thanks Mike, I'll try that, I am alomst certain i have throttle channel reversed, because I had to reverse it with my hvmax, the strange thing to me is that it will work in bec mode (with lots of cogging and bogging if i gas it)

no luck, with ubec its like my throttle channel is blocked, i thought all i had to do was disconnect the black jumper (permantly right?) and plug in the ubec to the recever in the slot marked B for battery, after I do this I reprogram it and it still dont work, without the ubec it will work ok, but i dont think I can run 20 cells with the bec on the controler can I? I have heard u can disconnect a wire instead of the jumper, I may try that, but I dont know what wire that is. At this point I am very frusterated with this thing. I just dont know what the problem is, it all seems ok till i disconnect the black jumper then it doesent seem to recognize the throttle although it will let me program so it must be receving throtle signal I would think?

This is something to check to n12. I had a problem with the plug not going all the way in the receiver. It made my cogg real bad and even didn't work some time. Do you have another receiver to try.

I'll get one to try today hopefully, my other spare quit working when hooked up the ubec without pulling the black jumper first i guess i over loaded it? hopefully that didnt damage the controler, i wouldnt think so because I thought BK said U can uses a recever pack in addition to the bec on the controler and that would be the equivilant of bec + ubec i would assume

Hmmm, are you sure you did not get the 2 jumpers mixed up. Perhaps you should put the jumper on make sure it works with Cogging, Then make only one change and that is to remove the red wire pin on the ESC lead,

I assume that you have 1 side of the UBEC connected to the Main battery, and the other side in reciever (Battery location) and the ESC pluged into the receiver some spot os always.
